What would it take for you to turn your back on Canada and start a brand new life somewhere else in the world?

For one Canadian woman, not being able to afford a house with a great income and dealing with terrible weather are enough reasons.

TikTok user Marta (@marta.wisnie) took to social media to share her woes about the Great North and how she’s flirting with the idea of moving to the U.S.

According to her, even with a university degree and a master’s under her belt, tied with being considered in the top two per cent of earners in Canada, she still can’t buy a house.

“Everytime I leave the house I spend a minimum of $100, since when did $100 become the new $20?,” she asked.

“And to top it off, we don’t even have the weather to justify wanting to be here,” she continued, no doubt hinting at Canada’s brutal winters and random rainy days.

Her video was posted on Thursday and has already garnered more than 380,000 views as of publication.

“Honestly, the Canadian economy is making me consider going into politics because someone needs to take the initiative to make some changes. I’ve never considered moving to the US until now,” she captioned the video.

“100$ being the new $20 is so real,” one user said in agreement.

“You could if you moved to a cheaper area not all of Canada is expensive,” another user wrote, to which the video creator responded saying there’s a reason remote places are cheap since there is “nothing to do,” along with even worse weather.

Another user chimed into the comment section and shared that they bought their husband deodorant the other day and the cheapest one was nearly $10.
