Small-town foodies will be happy with the latest from Uber Eats!

The delivery service has announced that it will be expanding to 50 small towns and cities in Canada, the Toronto Star reports.

The expansion reportedly rolled out to several locations on Wednesday, including Leamington, Tillsonburg, Strathroy, Woodstock, Chatham, Stratford, Grimsby, Fergus, Fort Erie, Elora and Beamsville.

It’s a big move, especially as many of the locations that will be impacted by the rollout do not have access to Uber’s ridesharing services, according to The Star.

SO, WHAT ARE WE ORDERING?

Meanwhile, Uber Eats has also released its 2023 cravings report, and some of the findings may surprise you. For example, the company reports that rosé sales this summer were on the decline, while it saw more orders for lighter red and white wines. Meanwhile, the service is seeing more clients cutting back on their onions, with more people requesting the vegetable be removed from their meals!

The most ordered items included french fries, garlic naan, Pad Thai, miso soup, and California rolls. Uber Eats also determined the “most unexpected” food combinations they’ve seen ordered, including steak and jelly, cottage cheese and mustard, condensed milk and avocado, seaweed and pasta sauce, and butter and pickled onions.

Also included in the report are some of the most unusual delivery requests. They include some “extra” requests, like “Please fry my chicken VERY hard. Very very crispy. Almost burned!” and “Extra cheese sauce please 🙂 I’ll pay for it. I’m also drunk asf so if you load it up you’d make me the happiest drunk girl ever.”

Meanwhile, other people were really specific with requests like, “I have braces and it is difficult for me to chew. Please please chop my salad and all ingredients in small, small pieces,” and “Please drench the whole bowl in white sauce with a spiral of red sauce!!!! Thank you so much!!!! Just do what I ask.”

And others had a lot to say! Like the person who wrote “Every so often, a meal not only tantalizes your taste buds but also transports you – and the offerings here managed to do just that. This wasn’t just a meal; it was a celebration of Caribbean culture and culinary artistry. Thank you for delivering a slice of the Caribbean right to my doorstep.”
